Lille will be hoping to keep the pressure on in the chase for Champions League football as they travel to Marseille in Ligue 1’s late Saturday kick-off. Les Dogues put the cat amongst the pigeons last time out in Ligue 1 as they beat Monaco to move into contention for Champions League qualification.
L’Équipe reports that Paulo Fonseca is set to place his faith in Jonathan David for the match against OM, despite the Canadian striker’s barren spell in front of goal. Yusuf Yazıcı was favoured to lead the line against Monaco. The Turkish attacking midfielder should keep his place playing behind the striker.
Andre Gomes should be the one that misses out on a start against Marseille with David returning to the starting eleven. Fonseca will be forced to make one other change with Bafodé Diakité expected to miss the match at the Stade Vélodrome due to injury, according to L’Équipe. Tiago Santos should replace Diakité at right back. The rest of the Lille defence should remain unchanged from their victory against Les Monégasques.
Lille likely XI vs Marseille:
Lucas Chevalier – Tiago Santos, Lenny Yoro, Alexsandro, Ismaily – Benjamin André, Nabil Bentaleb – Edon Zhegrova, Yusuf Yazıcı, Ivan Cavaleiro, Jonathan David
