According to French outlet L’equipe, as translated by Sporting Witness, Lille have named a price tag of €35 million for Liverpool target Renato Sanches.

The price is a fair one, too, when considering every factor involved.

Many Ligue 1 sides, including Lille, are struggling financially due to the collapse of the Mediapro TV deal back in December. Shifting players of Renato Sanches’ calibre may become a necessity this summer. And for £30 million, clubs should jump at the chance to secure a deal.

Liverpool will still be on the lookout for a Gini Wijnaldum replacement this summer, and the Portugal international may just be the man to target.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

If the reported price is true, Liverpool should make their move. €30 million is a bargain deal for the Portuguese international who continues to impress on the biggest stage.

Whether it is his wages that stand in the way of a move happening is unknown, but, either way, there is no denying that the Reds need a replacement for Wijnaldum.

Whilst Liverpool won’t want to disrupt the current wage bill or risk upsetting some players, they may have no choice if they want to bring reinforcements in this summer.
