Lille close in on Real Betis left-back Romain Perraud | OneFootball

Lille are closing in on the signing of French left-back Romain Perraud (27) from Real Betis, according to Foot Mercato.Talks between all parties are reportedly at an advanced stage, with optimism that a deal can be completed in the coming days. Perraud would become a key reinforcement for a Lille backline looking to consolidate after narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification last season. Les Dogues are also set to sign Standard Liège defender Nathan Ngoy, as reported by L’Équipe yesterday.

The former Paris FC, OGC Nice and Stade Brestois defender spent the 2024/25 season in La Liga, where he made 41 appearances for Betis, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists across all competitions. Prior to his spell in Spain, Perraud also featured for Southampton in the Premier League. Perraud was previously reportedly targeted by Olympique de Marseille at the start of the transfer window.Meanwhile, Lille are also facing intense Premier League interest in current starting centre-back Bafodé Diakité, particularly from Bournemouth and Sunderland.
