It was Xeka who opened the scoring with a thunderous strike right on the stroke of half time.

Burak Yilmaz’s lay-off found the Portuguese midfielder, who arrowed a drive straight past Keylor Navas from the edge of the box to give Lille the lead.

Abdou Diallo will be wondering how he didn’t equalise for Mauricio Pochettino’s side midway through the second half, as he somehow headed Mauro Icardi’s flick-on wide from three yards out.

Julian Draxler also spurned a good chance in the 75th minute when his volley from the back-post after being unmarked flew wide.

But despite the hustling and harrying from PSG, the champions prevail over Pochettino once again.
