‘Like him a lot’ – Barcelona star heaps praise on Real Madrid’s Arda Güler | OneFootball

A headline member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Thursday moved to reveal his admiration for Real Madrid sensation Arda Güler.

Youngster Güler is for his part of course now widely considered to be one of the standout talents in Spanish football.

After an explosion onto the first-team picture in Madrid late last season, the 19-year-old is expected to play an altogether more prominent role for reigning Spanish and European champions Real this coming season.

Güler’s most recent outing in the colours of Los Blancos came last week, in a friendly meeting with arch rivals Barcelona in the USA.

And one member of Barca’s ranks who was evidently impressed by what he witnessed comes in the form of İlkay Gündoğan.

Speaking after touching down in Istanbul for a short vacation on Thursday, veteran midfielder Gündoğan was asked for his take on the next great hope of Turkish football.

And, in quotes gathered by Ajansspor, the Barcelona standout went on to respond:

“Arda Güler? I like him a lot. He’s a very characterful boy. I hope he will go on to bigger and better things. He’s already in a very big club like Real Madrid. We will play against each other and we are very competitive.”
