According to Fabrizio Romano, the race to sign Barcelona centre-back Mikayil Faye (20) is hotting up, with another Ligue 1 club bidding to sign the Senegal international.
Faye is yet to make his competitive first-team debut for Barcelona, however, that hasn’t prevented him from creating a reputation as one of the more promising up-and-coming centre-backs in Spain. The defender was the subject of interest in January, however, Barcelona wanted to retain him.
He is once again coveted this summer and with under a fortnight until the closure of the transfer window, he could yet leave the Catalan club. Stade Rennais, who are undergoing a squad overhaul this summer, have already submitted a bid for Faye and Lille OSC have now followed suit, as per a report from Romano.
Should Barcelona let him leave this summer, he would only do so if a buy-back clause and a sell-on clause can be included in the deal.
