Game of the week: RC Lens v Paris Saint-Germain, Sunday 19:45 (UK)

Following the winter break, Ligue 1 football returns! In a repeat of the opening league gameweek of 2023, Lens once again face PSG in the opening round of 2024. Unlike last year, Lens look incapable of mounting a challenge for the title, and whilst Franck Haise’s side may find it difficult to repeat last year’s victory over Les Parisiens at the Bollaert, their return to form in the weeks leading up to the winter break alludes to a tough match for Luis Enrique’s men.

Elsewhere, Marseille return to action against Strasbourg and will be looking to return to winning ways after drawing to Montpellier prior to the winter break, whilst struggling Rennes face a Nice side who will themselves have designs on maintaining their title challenge into the New Year.
