L’Équipe report this afternoon that the LFP – Ligue 1’s governing body –  has opened an investigation into the crowd trouble during Sunday’s Classique between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain.

The incidents being looked at include the throwing of objects at PSG players taking corners, use of flares, a pitch invasion, as well as the unfurling of banners insulting the league authorities.

As a result, the definitive decisions will potentially be announed during its meetings on either November 10 or 17. As a result, the LFP’s disciplinary commission is unlikely to announce any measures tonight with regard to Marseille.

Nevertheless, it appears that Marseille risk seeing the suspended point deduction inflicted for incidents on the September trip to Angers triggered as a result of repeated misbehaviour on Sunday. The LFP had already barred OM fans from travelling to away games until the end of the calendar year as a result of the pitch invasion and clashes between fans at Angers.
