Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 have been suspended until further notice.

The LFP made the decision with a vote on Friday.

Most European leagues have stopped until the end of March or beginning of April but Ligue 1 have made no comment on when play will resume.

France has been badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and made the decision on Monday to ban all gatherings of more than 1000 people.

That decision saw PSG play Borussia Dortmund in an empty stadium on Wednesday.

Now, though, all games have been outright suspended.

On Thursday, French president Emmanuel Macron announced all schools will be closed from Monday on as the country takes extra precautions to delay the spread of the virus.
