Tajon Buchanan should be able to make his return for Inter Milan against Roma after the international break.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that there’s “light at the end of the tunnel” for the Canadian. He should soon be in a matchday squad.
Wingback Buchanan has been on the sidelines for a few months now.
The 25-year-old suffered a serious injury during the summer.
Buchanan was with the Canadian national team for the Copa America. He suffered a fractured tibia during training.
The broken leg required immediate surgery. This saw Buchanan miss the Copa with his national team as well as the entire preseason with Inter and the start of the season.
But Buchanan has been gradually recovering from that horror injury.
So far this season, Buchanan has not been part of an Inter matchday squad. He has been a long-term absentee as the Nerazzurri have gotten their Serie A and Champions League campaigns rolling.
However, the Gazzetta report, a return is now very much in sight for Buchanan.
The Canadian international has been working individually in training since last month.
Buchanan has fully healed from his injury and subsequent surgery. It is now just a matter of building back fitness for the former Club Brugge wingback.
And according to the Gazzetta, a return to full training is now on the horizon for Buchanan.
The Canadian will certainly miss at least one more match for Inter. He is out for this weekend’s Serie A clash with Torino.
That is Inter’s last match before the October international break.
However, during the break, Buchanan should be able to make his return to full training at some stage.
Therefore, the Canadian should likely be in Inter’s squad for their first match back from the break. They take on Roma on the 20th of October.
