Football in Mexico is going to be played every single day this season.
The 2020 Apertura calendar is set to finally be released this week, with Liga MX playing from Thursday to Monday and Liga de Expansión MX featuring on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Due to the lack of ticket sales, the FMF are hoping that there can be football every single day and that no two matches will be played at the same time, maximising the potential TV revenues.
The Liga de Expansión MX, which has 17 registered teams, is hoping they can generate high ratings by not competing with Liga MX fixtures.
The schedule for the 2020 Apertura, which will be called the Guard1anes as a tribute to the people who have combated the coronavirus on the front lines, was supposed to be released last Sunday (5 July) but an agreement has not yet been reached with all the clubs involved.
