Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has admitted that he’s more than happy with the current options he has at left-back despite the club’s pursuit of Harry Toffolo.

The Tigers do have options on the left side of their defence, with central defender Jacob Greaves making the slot his own in recent months, while ex-Leicester City man Callum Elder is pushing for a return.

However, that hasn’t stopped the club from looking to bolster their options with the experienced Toffolo, although they might well lose out on the 27-year-old, with Anderlecht favourites for his signature according to Football Insider.

It’s left Rosenior admitting that he isn’t rushed into bringing in another left-sided defender. He told Hull Live: “For me, at the moment, I’m happy with the left-back department, I want to make that really clear.

I’ve been very, very happy with Callum Elder and Jacob Greaves there, but there’s always conversations and it’s not a conversation in terms of myself, it’s a conversation for Lee (Darnbrough), for Tan (Kesler) and the recruitment meetings.”

Hull are looking to continue strengthening their side and aren’t short of ambition when it comes to adding players into the squad. They reportedly made an offer to sign their former youngster Keane Lewis-Potter on loan from Brentford, with the club clearly keen to keep pushing up the table under their new manager.

The Verdict

It’s not a surprise to see Hull look at Toffolo, considering his pedigree and experience at Championship level.

With his signature unlikely, Hull should perhaps look to other areas of their squad to improve rather than left-back.

Ensuring another centre back come in should be a priority, and if they secure the Lewis-Potter loan, you would expect them to continue to push up the table under Rosenior who has enjoyed a positive start to life in charge.
