Although he found game time somewhat hard to come by last season, Liam Lindsay has been a main stay in the Preston North End side this season making 16 appearances and starting in all of those games.
However, with the centre-back out of contract int he summer, he is being linked with a move away with journalist Alan Nixon reporting that both Aberdeen and Hearts are interested in bringing the Scottish man home.
The 27-year-old is one of a number of players out of contract at Deepdale this summer but amid the interest from elsewhere he is remaining relaxed over his future.
When asked if he has had a conversation about a new deal, the player told Lancashire Live: “No, nothing yet. Obviously I know the contract is up. I am just playing my football and trying to play a part for this team, to get us up the league. We’ll see what happens. [It’s] not [on my mind] at the minute, no.
“I am just waiting to see what happens. I don’t know what they’re thinking. I’ve literally not heard anything. I just let the agent deal with that, so we’ll see what happens. I have never been in this situation where it’s been my last year, so it’s new to me. Stability is always good, but I’m playing every week and just happy. We’ll see where it takes us.”

The Verdict:
Liam Lindsay probably finds himself in a better position now than he did last season as he is now a regular part of the Preston team, and therefore the Lilywhites are more likely to want to keep him in the side.
However, with the linked interest from elsewhere it seems as though the defender may not be stuck for options in the summer transfer window which may be why he is staying calm about the situation despite hie future being fairly unknown.
As the season goes on, if Lindsay continues to prove his quality in the side and show Ryan Lowe why he is a valuable member of the squad then you can imagine the boss will be keen to keep him on board going forward.
