While both sides started promisingly, it was Leyton Orient who scored first, Leanne Bates finding the back of the net on eight minutes to give them an early lead.
The team-mate that assisted her, Sion Kamiende, doubled the Os' lead 10 minutes later with a goal of her own.
Despite trailing, the Bees pushed on and continued to play positively and were awarded for it just after the 20-minute mark. After Nailia Ali was awarded a free-kick, Elsbury stepped up and slotted it home to half the deficit.
The celebration was short-lived, however, as Bates found the back of the net for her second one minute later, reinstating Orient’s two-goal advantage.
As the Bees tried to wrestle back momentum, Berry was inches away from finding the side’s second goal just before the half-hour mark. A minute that, she did exactly that as she headed home to get Brentford back in the game.
Despite getting back on top, the visitors leaked a fourth goal on 35 minutes, with Bates securing her hat-trick.
Continuing to follow the rapid pace of the half, Berry scored her second goal two minutes later to half the deficit for a third time, giving the Bees the momentum going into the second half.
It was the Os who struck first as the second 45 minutes got underway, with Liliana Almeida heading in from a corner to make it 5-3.
Substitute Stephanie McCaffrey found the back of the net on 69 minutes to give the hosts a three-goal buffer.
Four minutes later, Freya Walker came up with a save after Leyton Orient had been awarded a penalty, with an effort on the rebound then being sent over the bar.
Walker was called into action again one minute later and made a strong save, however she couldn’t keep the ball out on 85 minutes as Ebony Heath fired home her first goal to secure the 7-3 win.
