A reunion appears to be on the cards, with Forest expected to trim their squad after making further additions this month.

O’Brien joined the Reds in the summer as they went on a recruitment spree upon earning promotion.

However, the Englishman could be on his way out temporarily, with West Brom keen to bolster their ranks.

The Baggies want to finish in the play-off places, and quality additions this month would go a long way.

They are currently 10th in the Championship table after 28 games, with a point separating them from sixth place.

West Brom are in their second season in the division since getting relegated.

They finished last season in 10th place, eight points off the play-off zone. Albion want to prevent a repeat, and landing O’Brien could boost their chances.

He has played 17 games across all competitions this term, scoring a goal.

Nine of those appearances have come from the bench, and the hunger for regular chances could see him move to West Brom.

O’Brien bagged eight Championship goals and ten assists in the three seasons he spent at Huddersfield.

He has the experience and quality to help his former boss pick up some valuable points going forward.

O’Brien should link up with the Baggies in the coming days if things go according to plan between both clubs.
