Barcelona are top of LaLiga after a comfortable victory over CĂĄdiz at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla on Saturday.

Goals from Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembélé earned the Blaugrana the three points, with Héctor Bellerín and Marcos Alonso also making their debuts for the club.

But the match finished almost an hour later than scheduled due to a medical emergency in the crowd which saw the game stopped and the players taken off the field.

Scorers: De Jong 55â€Č, Lewandowski 65â€Č, Fati 86â€Č, DembĂ©lĂ© 90+2â€Č

Raphinha went close to giving Barça the lead in the 10th minute when he struck the post, before Ferran Torres shot just wide with the follow up.

The visitors had an appeal for a penalty waved away five minutes before half-time, when Alejandro BaldĂ© went down in the box under a challenge from IvĂĄn Alejo, but the referee awarded a goal-kick, much to Xavi’s annoyance on the bench.

The breakthrough came 10 minutes into the second half, when Gavi’s cut-back was parried out into danger by Cádiz goalkeeper Conan Ledesma, and De Jong was on hand to sweep the rebound home.

Lewandowski and Pedri then came off the bench, and Lewandowski soon made it 2-0 when he scrambled home from close range after Ledesma had again been unable to clear a low cross.

With just a few minutes remaining, the match was stopped for due to a medical emergency in the crowd, with Ledesma involved in providing medical attention.

The players remained on the pitch, and some were seen praying, until they were eventually taken into the dressing rooms after around 15 minutes of waiting.

Then at 20:55 local time, with the situation under control, the players returned to the pitch and finished the match.

And the three points were secured when substitute Fati tapped into an empty net after Lewandowski had done brilliantly to hold off a defender and provide the assist.

Before another substitute – DembĂ©lĂ© – put the icing on the cake with a strike which went in off Ledesma for 4-0.

Next up for Barça is a trip to Munich to face Bayern in the Champions League on Tuesday.
