The Daily Mail are reporting that Lewandowski – who has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Allianz Arena – is willing to go on strike to engineer and exit and believes returning to training at Bayern is ‘out of the question’.

The Poland captain’s former agent, former agent Maik Barthel, has revealed that going on strike is an option that Lewandowski previously considered when looking to leave Borussia Dortmund in 2013.

Bayern have already signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool this summer as a replacement for Lewandowski, who finished as the Bundesliga’s leading scorer for a fifth straight season in 2021/22.

He has scored 344 goals in 375 games since arriving on a free transfer from Dortmund, with the forward second, behind Gerd Muller, among the all-time leading scorers for both Bayern and in the Bundesliga.
