Lewandowski assures Xavi of Barcelona priority as Bayern Munich ready to sell
Tribal Football
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has assured Barcelona coach Xavi he wants to join them.
PSG have made an effort for the Poland international, 33, who has less than a year to run on his contract.
Lewandowski and Xavi saw eachother in Ibiza last week and Mundo Deportivo says the striker told Barca's coach he remained determined to join the Spanish giants.
The roadmap is clear and has been agreed with Lewandowski and with his agent, Pini Zahavi. Barca president Joan Laporta is in permanent contact with them. He has been reassuring when negative news has appeared about his possible signing or statements such as those by LaLiga president Javier Tebas claiming Barça could not sign Lewandowski.
Zahavi has told Laporta it will take €40m to get his client out of Bayern and Barca have made such an offer. While Bayern have declared publicly they want €60m, there's a belief they are ready to accept Barca's proposal.
Bayern are expected to agree Lewandowski's sale by July 12, when the squad is due back for the start of preseason training.
