According to the German newspaper, Lewandowski was criticising his French team-mate in the lead up to the incident. The players are said to have hit each other in the face.

Defenders Niklas Süle and Jérôme Boateng intervened but the players were not sent back to the dressing room.

The report adds that Lewandowksi and Coman finished the training session, much to the surprise of the squad.

Bayern are top of the Bundesliga by a point after last weekend’s 5-0 defeat of Borussia Dortmund. They will be hoping the squad remain focused on their performances for the remaining six games of the campaign.

Both players are expected to feature when the German champions face Düsseldorf on Sunday.

The club have declined to comment on the incident.
