Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has no intention of letting Harry Kane join any domestic rival should he decide to leave in the summer, according to The Athletic.

The Englishman has been the subject of high-profile links to Manchester United amid Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s search for a new centre-forward.

Despite his massive impact this season, Edinson Cavani’s future at Old Trafford is hanging in the balance.

Tormented by injuries and form issues, Anthony Martial has lost his mojo, forcing the Norwegian’s hand in the upcoming transfer window.

United harbour faint hopes of landing Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland as Solskjaer looks to bridge the gap on Manchester City next season.

However, Kane remains a viable option for the Red Devils.

The England captain has enjoyed another stellar individual season, being a rare bright spot in Tottenham’s otherwise underwhelming 2020/21 campaign.

Spurs are set to miss out on Champions League football next season on the back of a 3-1 home loss to United on Sunday.

However, the 27-year-old tops the scoring charts in England with 19 goals under his belt.

Another trophyless season means Kane will contemplate his future in London, with the Old Trafford outfit lining up a summer bid to end his misery.

While United assess the prospect of signing one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League, their chances of completing the deal are rather slim.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham chief Levy is hell-bent on preventing his talisman team up with another English club.

Levy’s decision comes as a blow to Kane’s hopes of departing the Londoners for the prospect of winning titles elsewhere.

Adding to this sentiment, Spurs last sold a player to United in 2008 when Dimitar Berbatov fought his way out of London against the Levy’s will.

That was two years after selling Michael Carrick to United, and both transfers led to Premier League titles for the departing player.

Levy would prefer to see Kane moving to a club overseas, with Barcelona and Real Madrid mooted as potential destinations.

Paris Saint-Germain have recently joined the race for the Englishman, as Mauro Icardi’s future in France hangs in the balance.
