Levi Colwill is preparing to make his England debut after joining up with the squad at St George’s Park and shaking off worries of a hamstring injury.
The 20 year old went for scans following Chelsea’s loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but nothing untoward was detected and he’s been given the all clear to play against Ukraine this weekend, and Scotland next week, according to The Evening Standard.
It’s a natural next step and a good reward for Colwill, who dominated at the U21 Euros with England this summer, forming a part of the rock solid defence that won the title without conceding a goal.
Colwill has started every game for Chelsea this season, including the midweek Carabao Cup game against Wimbledon last week where he appeared to tweak something. He was able to play again on Saturday, and now looks in line for further minutes with Gareth Southgate’s side.
