Odilon Kossounou has several admirers in the Premier League with the Bayer Leverkusen defender ‘one to watch’ before the transfer deadline.

Kossounou made 22 league appearances as Leverkusen won the Bundesliga for the first time in 2023/24., while the centre-back also impressed as Ivory Coast won the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

Leverkusen are informed about interest from a number of clubs with Sky Germany reporting that the 23-year-old has a ‘top market’ in the Premier League. Crystal Palace are understood to be among the teams interested as the Eagles face interest from Newcastle in Marc Guehi.

The German side are keen to keep the defender at the club but could sanction his sale should an offer be received in the region of €30m (£25.6m).

Leverkusen are expected to lose fellow centre-back Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich and could enter the transfer market to reinforce their backline before the deadline.

Xabi Alonso’s side expressed interest in signing Waldemar Anton from Stuttgart but missed out on the Germany international to Borussia Dortmund.
