Levante were relegated to the Segunda after Real Madrid hit them for six on a big night for Karim Benzema and Vinícius Junior at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Scorers: Mendy 13′, Benzema 19′, Rodrygo 34′, Vinícius 45′, 68′, 83′.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side had already wrapped up the LaLiga title weeks ago but showed no mercy to their visitors, who needed all three points to have any hopes of remaining in LaLiga.
Ferland Mendy gave the hosts the lead in the 13th minute, getting on to the end of Luka Modrić’s defence-splitting pass to slide the ball past Daniel Cárdenas at his near post.
Then came a history-making goal for Karim Benzema as he rose highest to head Vinícius’ cross in from inside the six yard box to make it two.
That strike means the Frenchman has now drawn level with Raùl in the club’s goalscoring charts, with both having hit 323 for Los Blancos.
It was three just after the half-hour mark as again Modrić laid it on a plate for Rodrygo to tap in from close range.
The Croatian mustered up his third assist of the night just before half-time, this time playing Vinícius in to poke home from a tight angle after a neat one-two between the pair.
The Brazilian forward got his second in the 68th minute, touching the ball in from underneath the crossbar after some sublime work from Benzema when he rounded Cárdenas and played the ball across goal.
Vinícius completed his first ever Real Madrid hat-trick in the final ten minute, running onto Luka Jović’s through ball to place the ball underneath the body of Cárdenas.
Levante’s five-year stay in the Spanish top flight is over while Real move on to 84 points for the season.
