Newcastle United fans with the latest collection of opinions below, plus the odd visitor from elsewhere…

Contributions are sometimes too brief to make up into a full article and so we have gathered up a number of recent comments sent in, relating to issues at Newcastle United (if you would like to send anything in, long or short, then contribute@themag.co.uk is the place):

Dear Mag,

With regard to the Gordon penalties, it’s very clear that fans of both Newcastle and West Ham give biased views on what happened.

Newcastle fans think Gordon is “clever”, Hammers fans think him a cheat.

As a Chelsea fan, I don’t support either club and was hoping for a draw.

My opinion is that Gordon, along with Saka and Sterling, is one of the worst cheats in the league and will do anything to con referees.

Both penalties v West Ham were farcical.

The second in particular should have been a free to West Ham.

While refs continue to be clueless the cheats are going to continue profiting by their despicable actions.

Dear Mag,

Having read the ‘Newcastle United fans in awe – Audacious Sunderland April Fools prank wins top prize’ article.

Mackems can’t get into Nissan because of all the poverty stricken geordies making a beeline for the place.

Still, it helps them to pay their fines.

Also, remember 10,000 free tickets being classed as 50,000!

Dear Mag,

Looking at the fixtures for the remaining games, NUFC do have a chance of a top four finish.

Our season plagued by injuries and other mistakes.

Surely we have had our bad luck, now’s the time to create some good luck.

Our fixtures are achievable to get the max points.

Aston Villa, Spurs, Manchester United, West Ham and Brighton have much more challenging games.

Wouldn’t it be great to charge up one by one to reach 4th spot again.

Meaning come the transfer window we could be in a better position to sign who we need to and progress.

Dear Mag,

Time: 14.30. Location: Settee@home. Date: 30th March 2024:

Slippers on, kettle on, scran on.

Sitting in shock, again (this time for the good), trying to come to terms with what we had just witnessed.

The fact that the Toon came back from the brink of a home defeat to the in-form Hammers in spectacular fashion and worthy recipients of the 3 points, a massive confidence boost and back into the top half of the Prem’ and the outside chance of European football again next season.

Roll back to…

Time: 19.45. Location: SJP. Date: 28th September 2016:

Thermals on, woolly hat, scarf and Rockports on, big coat on, Greggs’ in-hand and whilst scooping off my Rockports a big side-splat from the daughter’s mince pie that had a filling hotter than the surface of the sun, the Toon went 1-3 down in 69 mins with the scorer non other than one Jacob Murphy (for Norwich)!

Yet again after leading 1-0, this time by a Dwight Gayle goal on 24 mins.

Then within a similar time frame as the Hammers game, Gayle scored again on 71 mins, then Yoan Gouffran (remember him?) on 95 mins registering one of his 16 goals total for the Toon, before a minute later Gayle grabbing a dramatic hat-trick on 96 mins with a rollercoaster 4-3 result and of course, going on to win the Championship and promotion back to the Prem’ with Rafa the Gaffa.

Back then I used to have some hair and nails – now I have neither! I wonder why! HWTL!
