There is less than a 50% chance of striker Romelu Lukaku to be fully fit in time for Inter’s Serie A clash with Udinese next weekend.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Belgian will undergo further tests tomorrow but that the feeling is that it is more likely than not that he will miss out at least on starting against the Friulians.

Lukaku is back in Milan where he’s working individually in training at the moment to try and get back to full fitness as soon as he can so that he can return to the pitch.

The 29-year-old will be absent for tomorrow’s Champions league group stage clash with Viktoria Plzen, whilst the status of his availability against Udinese is very much up in the air.

Tests tomorrow could shed more light on the progress of Lukaku’s recovery, and an appearance against Udinese can hardly be ruled out, but at the moment it looks less likely.

As a kind of compromise, Lukaku could be included in the squad for the match away to Udinese, but start on the bench rather than being included in the starting eleven.
