Leroy Sané to play for Bayern Munich at Club World Cup, despite signing for Galatasaray | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, Leroy Sané (29) will compete with Bayern Munich at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, despite completing a move to Turkish side Galatasaray.

Sané will join Galatasaray upon the expiration of his contract at Bayern Munich at the end of this month. The Bavarian club had attempted to extend the winger’s contract, but to no avail. Despite initial interest from Arsenal, his move to Turkey has been completed.

But he will continue to play for Bayern Munich, at least in the short term. The Bundesliga champions will face Auckland City on Sunday before then facing Boca Juniors and Benfica before the end of the month in the group stage of the inaugural Club World Cup.

Sané will compete in those games before his chapter with Bayern Munich closes. Even if the German club qualify for the knockout stages, Sané will not compte in this stage of the competition, according to Florian Plettenberg.
