After just one season at Bayern, Leroy Sané has got an insatiable taste for titles after winning his first Bundesliga trophy, marking his fourth title since his arrival last July.

Though Bayern were not able to replicate their historic six-trophy haul from last season, Sané is more than satisfied with how the season played out and is looking forward to the next four years of his contract.

“It’s always special to win a league title,” Sane told a press conference on Wednesday. “It’s not easy.

“When you win it once you get a taste for it and it makes you hungry for more. I came here to win titles and we did it this season.

“I’m very happy about that and it was a special day on the weekend against Gladbach.

“It took me a while to get used to everything new here, but overall, I’m pleased that I could stay healthy and I’m happy that we won a title.

“In general, I’m happy because I had a bad injury before last season and because of Corona, it was difficult to come back and get my rhythm back and confidence on the pitch. I just tried to get as much as I could in training.

“There are two games left now and then we’ll prepare for the Euros.”

Sané also discussed his upcoming ‘new chapter’ under Julian Nagelsmann, who will officially become Bayern’s newest manager on the first of July.

“While he’s young for a coach, he’s done a really good job,” Sane said. “I’m excited because it’s a new chapter again but we have a little bit of time until then and there are a few other things we have to stay focussed on.”

Sané’s Bundesliga title was his 12th trophy for club and country, previously lifting the 2017 Confederations Cup with Germany in addition to seven titles with Manchester City and earlier triumphs in the Club World Cup, Uefa Super Cup, and DFB Super Cup under Hansi Flick.
