Lazio had also expressed a serious interest in signing the Italy international but couldn’t come to an agreement.

Bonucci, who has captained Juventus, Milan and the Azzurri, has won nine Serie A titles throughout his career – only Gianluigi Buffon has more.

He also has 121 caps for his country and scored the crucial goal in their Euro 2020 final win over England.
