Christopher Lenz is back in full training following his thigh injury, while Jesper Lindström is the first to return from international duty.

After four days off, the training ground at Deutsche Bank Park is filling up again this week. Christopher Lenz returned to the pitch on Tuesday having been sidelined with a thigh problem recently, to the delight of head coach Oliver Glasner. Jesper Lindström, who featured for Denmark in their Nations League win over France on Sunday, was the first international to return, while Aurélio Buta and Jérôme Onguéné completed an individual running session.

Players returning at right time

Sebastian Rode acknowledged how important it is that the treatment room at Eintracht is gradually emptying. “We pretty much have a game every three days now. That’s going to be very, very tiring and every player in the squad will be needed, so we hope we come through it without injuries,” said the SGE captain after training.

A hectic period of six consecutive weeks with midweek matches begins on Saturday, when Union Berlin visit Deutsche Bank Park (kick-off 15:30 CEST). To prepare for the meeting with the current Bundesliga leaders, there’ll be one training session each day for the rest of this week. The internationals will return in stages over the coming days, leaving Glasner with almost a full squad to pick from.
