L’Équipe report tonight that Club Brugge forward Loïs Openda has arrived in Lens ahead of his transfer, with the Belgian international set to sign a long-term contract with the Artois club after an agreement was found between the two clubs.

The Sang et Or club are set to complete a quick-fire double of signings, as Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba has also arrived in town to undergo his medical ahead of a five-year contract.

Openda was recently called up by Roberto Martínez for the first time in last month’s international fixtures, and notably scored his first senior goal for Belgium in a 6-1 thrashing of Poland in the Nations League.

The 22-year-old’s arrival could be seen as an admission on Lens’ part that they will not be able to hold on to PSG man Arnaud Kalimuendo for a third season on loan, with Openda having a similar profile as a forward – he is able to play both centrally and out wide on the left.

reports that the transfer fee will be close to €10m.
