The LFP, the governing body of French football’s professional leagues, has this afternoon announced its sanctions following the crowd trouble that rocked Saturday’s Derby du Nord between Lens and Lille.

In a half-time confrontation that included seat-throwing and a pitch invasion, a minority of supporters delayed the second-half kick-off by half an hour.

Lens will now play their next two home games behind closed doors, while Lille fans will see their away end shut for next Saturday’s game against Strasbourg. A final decision will be taken on October 6, at which point a full report of the incidents will have been put together.
