According to Fabrice Hawkins, RC Lens have rejected Olympique de Marseille’s opening offer for Elye Wahi (21) which was believed to be around €20 million with bonuses not included. Lens are thought to be unwilling to sell for any less than €30 million for Wahi, the price that they paid Montpellier HSC last summer for the striker.

West Ham and Leicester are also reportedly considering the striker. However, Hawkins writes that Wahi’s preference is thought to be joining Marseille and the project that is being built under Roberto De Zerbi, with the striker reportedly already agreeing personal terms with the southern side.

Wahi is not the only target that Marseille are considering as they attempt to find a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (35) who left earlier in the window for Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah. Les Phocéens have been strongly linked with Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah (25) although they have been unable to convince the Premier League side to part ways with their academy product.
