Another 2018 World Cup winner looks to be arriving in Ligue 1 this season, with Foot Mercato writing that RC Lens have reached a full agreement with Udinese for Florian Thauvin (32).

Thauvin follows Paul Pogba and Olivier Giroud in joining a French club this summer, as Lens have seen a €6m bid accepted for the former Olympique de Marseille and Newcastle United forward.

Thauvin is expected to arrive in the North of France this evening ahead of completing a move back to a league he hasn’t played in since leaving Marseille for Mexican side Tigres UNAL in 2021. The forward has reportedly been offered a three-year contract.

Lens had been looking to bolster their attacking options this summer, particularly following the departures of M’bala Nzola (who returned back to parent club Fiorentina) and Goduine Koyalipou (who was loaned to Levante, but with an option to make the deal permanent).
