Andy Diouf is a doubt to face Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. New signing Nampalys Mendy or Adrien Thomasson could start in his place for RC Lens.

Diouf, the replacement for Seko Fofana this season, went deep into the UEFA Europa Conference League with FC Basel last season, but he could miss out on Lens’ return to European competition. He has been struggling with an adductor injury, and whilst he is now fit to play, it is uncertain whether he will feature, and if he does, whether he will be fit enough to start.

Should the France youth international not make the starting XI, Mendy, who signed for Les Sang et Or on a free transfer, could take his place and make his debut in the process. There aren’t expected to be any surprises sprung by Franck Haise, who is looking to galvanise his side, who currently sit bottom of Ligue 1.
