Ahead of a crucial run of fixtures for their hopes of a spot in the Champions League, Lens are set to be without a vital part of Franck Haise’s set-up in midfielder Salis Abdul Samed, after the Ghanaian’s red card against Paris Saint-Germain last weekend.

The former Clermont man was sent off after twenty minutes in the top-of-the-table clash, his high, studs-up challenge on Achraf Hakimi leaving referee Willy Delajod no other option.

Haise’s men, who saw Marseille leapfrog them into second place over the weekend, could well have done without his extended absence – Abdul Samed will now be sidelined for the clashes against both Monaco and Marseille.

The league authorities have also announced that Clermont pair Alidu Seidu and Neto Borges will be suspended for two matches, following their respective red cards in the win over Angers.

Nice have also been sanctioned after their fans unfurled a banner insulting former manager Christophe Galtier’s mother in their match against PSG, with the lower part of the Allianz Riviera’s south stand to be closed for two matches.
