The Ligue 1 managerial merry-go-round has started. Franck Haise is set to leave RC Lens and sign for OGC Nice, according to a report this Tuesday from L’Equipe. Haise, who was crowned Ligue 1 coach of the year in 2023, on the back of the Artois side’s remarkable 2022-2023 season will leave the post he occupied since 2020. Haise has led Les Sang et Or to the Champions League group stage but he has made it clear recently he would be ready to take on a new challenge. Nice, who were in the market for a head coach since Francesco Farioli’s departure to AFC Ajax, have made Haise their priority. It appears Les Aiglons have got their man.
L’Equipe understands that Haise has found an agreement on personal terms with the INEOS-owned OGC Nice. The Ligue 1 side, who have qualified for the Europa League group stage next season courtesy of their fifth-place finish, have also wrapped up a deal with RC Lens. At the Allianz Riviera, Haise will reunite with Nice CEO Fabrice Bocquet, who was previously Lens’ Sporting Director.
