Lens’ Franck Haise could take sabbatical in event of failed negotiations with OGC Nice

Franck Haise has made his stance clear. Amidst hierarchal changes at the club, he wishes to leave RC Lens this summer. The Frenchman is currently in negotiations to replace Francesco Farioli, who joined Ajax earlier this month, at OGC Nice. Should these negotiations reach a dead end, L’Équipe understands that Haise would be open to taking a year out of the game.

Nice have made Haise their priority. Bruno Genesio was initially thought to be the frontrunner for the hot seat at the Allianz Riviera, however, it is now Haise, who has a former relationship with Les Aiglons’ CEO Fabrice Bocquet, who is the favourite for the role.

Lens will demand a fee for Haise, however, it is thought that they will not retain a manager against his will. Yet should those negotiations fail, L’Équipe understands that Haise would be open to taking a sabbatical, so strong is his wish to end his time with Les Sang et Or this summer.
