Dani Olmo will still be allowed to leave RB Leipzig for a fee of €60m (£51m) this summer despite the expiration of his release clause.

Olmo is attracting interest from top clubs after starring for Spain at this summer’s European Championship, where scored three times and provided two assists to win a share of the Euro 2024 Golden Boot.

The 26-year-old has been linked with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and members of the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’, with a release clause of €60m (£51m) appealing.

Interested teams had until July 20th to activate that clause and Leipzig have so far received no bids for the player.

However, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the strong relationship between Olmo and the Bundesliga side means Leipzig are prepared to sanction the midfielder’s sale if a club meets that asking price across the remainder of the summer window.

Despite heavy links to Manchester City, there has been no approach from the Premier League champions at this stage. Olmo is considered an option to improve City’s creativity from midfield amid doubts over the long-term futures of Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.
