Brendan Rodgers said in his post match presser that our superb victory over Leipzig was his best European result over his two spells as Celtic manager.
The best when it concerns the Champions League anyway. Maybe the 3-0 away win over Anderlecht runs it close, but he’s entirely right when he says it’s his best result, especially given the performance we put in on the night.
For me it’s one of the greatest Champions League nights I’ve witnessed at Paradise. Barcelona in 2012 is the obvious the other stand out, but we defended for our lives that night, unlike last night when we were head and shoulders above a very good Leipzig side.

The victory over Man United in 2006 was also rather special as was the 3-0 win over a decent Benfica side in the same campaign. The following year we also produced a great result against reigning European champions AC Milan at Paradise which was also another special night under the lights at Paradise.
Going further back to 2001 the thrilling 4-3 victory over a supremely talented Juventus side was also special. A win like the rest I’ve mentioned that we still cherish to this very day.
Last night’s victory was up there with those results, that’s not in doubt. But as for it being the best I’ve seen in the Champions League? It’s a contender but we it’s got plenty of challengers for that particular accolade.
