Leighton Baines has taken over as the head coach for Everton’s U18s side for the upcoming 2022/23 season.
Baines, who officially retired from playing professional football in 2020, has been working as one of the coaches with the youth players at the club since hanging up his boots.
But now the 37-year-old will take the next step by leading the next generation of Toffees in an announcement made on Monday.
Elsewhere, Gareth Prosser has become the club’s new Academy Director while Paul Tait takes over as U21s Head Coach.
Baines made 348 appearances during a 13-year stint as a player at Goodison Park.
