Leicester City continue their Championship campaign with a trip to face Preston North End at Deepdale on Saturday.
Tthe Foxes travel to Lancashire looking to maintain their perfect start after a 2–1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on the opening weekend.
Martí Cifuentes prepares to name his first away XI since taking charge in July. Veteran goalkeeper Asmir Begović, signed on a free from Everton, provides experienced cover, but it is likely that Jakub Stolarczyk retains the No 1 shirt for this fixture.
Boubakary Soumaré should anchor a two-man pivot, with Bilal El Khannouss offering creativity further forward. Jordan Ayew leads the line after the departure of Jamie Vardy.
The Foxes remain without Ricardo Pereira and Victor Kristiansen through injury, while Bobby De Cordova-Reid and long-term absentee Harry Souttar also sit out this weekend’s game. Cifuentes has stressed his ambition to “deliver under the weight of expectation,” adding that environments with high demands “indicate a desire to succeed and are ones I relish”.
Leicester predicted XI: Stolarczyk; Justin, Faes, Vestergaard, Thomas; Soumaré, Skipp; Fatawu, El Khannouss, Mavididi; Ayew.
Preston North End take on Leicester City at Deepdale on Saturday, 16th August 2025. Kick-off in Preston is at 15:00 BST.
