Leicester City Women sign Chelsea midfielder | OneFootball

Leicester City FC Women have completed the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Charlotte Fleming from Chelsea.

Fleming joins the FA Women’s Championship leaders in a deal until 2022 after ten years at Chelsea, whom she joined at the age of 10.

The former England U-17 international was called up to Chelsea’s first team squad last season and signed her first professional contract in 2020/21.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Fleming said: “For me, it’s a great move. I’m really excited to continue my development and get some game time. I want to help the team as much I can.

“It helps massively that there are girls your age that are going through the same experiences you are in your career.

‘You go through daily things with each other, and you’re the same age, so you can relate to them. Then, you can build friendships and bonds, and it makes you feel part of a team.’
