Leicester City may have plenty of work to do in their forward department this summer.
However, this may not be a key area of focus during the early stages of the upcoming window, with the Foxes needing to raise funds before the end of June to give themselves a chance to comply with financial rules in the coming years.
Looking at their striker area, they won't be raising a huge amount of money if Jamie Vardy, Kelechi Iheanacho, Patson Daka and Tom Cannon leave this summer, even though all four are excellent options to have in the Championship.
Whether all four players stay at the King Power Stadium remains to be seen, but it seems unlikely, with two of those players out of action during the summer window.
One player who hasn't won much game time this term is Cannon, even though the Foxes reportedly forked out around £7.5m to lure him away from Everton.
He had impressed at Preston North End during the second half of last season, scoring eight goals in 21 appearances for the Lilywhites, which allowed the Toffees to demand a sizeable fee for him.
Despite the other options that Enzo Maresca has at his disposal, Cannon was expected to win an adequate amount of game time, as a player who has already proven himself at this level and will only get better with more game time under his belt.
But a stress fracture in his back meant he was on the sidelines during the early stages of his time at the King Power Stadium - and that hasn't helped him to secure a decent number of appearances in all competitions this season.
Following back-to-back wins against West Bromwich Albion and Southampton, promotion is looking likely despite recent wobbles, and a return to the Premier League could limit Cannon's game time further.
Vardy and Iheanacho are both out of contract this summer - and neither are guaranteed to stay put beyond then.
However, Vardy looks more likely to be retained, with both sides planning discussions if or when the Foxes seal a top-flight return.
It has been reported by The Athletic that both sides are open to talks and with this in mind, it seems likely that the experienced forward will extend his stay in the Midlands beyond the end of June when his current deal runs out.
Iheanacho, on the other hand, looks likely to depart and that isn't a surprise considering he hasn't won too much game time in recent months.
Although the African Cup of Nations has contributed to that lack of game time, he has made just four appearances in all competitions since the tournament.
If he does depart, that would potentially leave Vardy, Daka and Cannon as the club's forward options, but a replacement could come in for the Nigerian and that could leave the latter in a situation similar to the one he's currently in.
Having thrived at Preston last term, he will want to be second or third in the pecking order at a very minimum, but Vardy would probably remain ahead of Cannon in the pecking order if the former stayed with the top-tier experience that the former England international has.
But if the 37-year-old leaves along with Iheanacho, there are no guarantees that a replacement or two will arrive, with Leicester's financial situation in mind and other areas they need to strengthen if key players like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall depart.
That could give Cannon the opportunity to secure a decent amount of playing time, even if Leicester are promoted, so the potential departures of Vardy and Iheanacho could help the Irishman.
