Leicester City’s Jakub Stolarczyk is on his way to Fleetwood in a loan deal, as reported by Football Insider.

Even though the Foxes have managed to sell on Kasper Schmeichel to Nice this summer, it appears as though they could be letting another player head out the exit door on a short-term basis too.

That Leicester player is Stolarczyk, with the goalkeeper unlikely to feature for the club over the course of the Premier League season. With the youngster having yet to play many games for the Foxes – he’s yet to feature in a league game for the club – they could send the shot-stopper out on a loan deal this window.

Who did Fleetwood sign Toto Nsiala from earlier this year?

Ipswich Town Norwich City Colchester United Southend United

Now, League One Fleetwood are plotting a bid to bring him in this window and a report from Football Insider claims that the club and the player are in talks over a deal to let him join them on loan. The only stumbling block for the Cod Army is that Leicester would rather sign a new goalkeeper themselves before letting another out of the door at the King Power Stadium.

Fleetwood want the player to come in and feature for them though and he does have some experience in competitive football already. He played in a total of 11 league games for Dunfermline in the Scottish Championship last season and now he could get a chance in the EFL this campaign.

Even though the player is in talks then – and Fleetwood want to sign him – a move might have to wait until a goalkeeper is signed by the Foxes. Then, it looks like a deal to send him to Highbury could happen this window.

The Verdict

Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk is a bit unknown in England and in the EFL, with the player yet to feature in competitive action in the Football League.

If he signs for Fleetwood this season and gets gametime there, it will be the first time in his career that he has featured in England for a League One club or for any team in the EFL. He put in some solid showings for Dunfermline in Scotland though and deserves gametime.

He won’t play for Leicester this season, even if they don’t sign another goalkeeper. There are two other shot-stoppers above him in the current Foxes squad that would feature instead of him and it means if he stays at the King Power Stadium, he’s likely to spend time on the bench rather than playing in games.

A Fleetwood transfer move then would be good for the player, good for the Cod Army and good for Leicester – so should happen this window.
