Leicester City midfielder Ellen Jones has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Coventry United on a loan deal until the end of the season.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Leicester City this morning.

Jones has made just two appearances for Leicester City this season with both of those outings coming in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup. The player’s game time was again set to be limited in the second half of the season therefore it has been determined that Jones is being sent out on loan.

The midfielder started her career with Bristol City before moving to the United States where she represented National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1 club, the Colorado Buffaloes. Jones moved to latest club Leicester City last summer but she has found playing opportunities very difficult to come by in her early days at The King Power Stadium.

Jones is the second departure at Leicester City in the current transfer window. Northern Ireland international full-back Demi Vance left the East Midlands club by mutual consent yesterday. Leicester City boss Willie Kirk has added one new player to his squad so far in the form of Australian international forward Remi Siemsen.
