The Yorkshire side are still under a two-window transfer fee embargo, which has prohibited them from spending money on any players until the summer of 2026, meaning just loans and free agents are on the table for Sergej Jakirović.

However, that doesn't prevent Hull from selling their players, and one man who has attracted interest this summer is their first-choice goalkeeper Pandur, with Middlesbrough and West Ham reportedly keen to sign the Croatian.

According to journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon page, a deal which could've involved Boro goalkeeper Dieng and cash being exchanged for the Hull star was being discussed, but journalist Dom Shaw has since confirmed the Teesside outfit won't be signing him.

With that deal reportedly dead in the water, Nixon also revealed that the embargoed club aren't out of the woods just yet, as Championship rivals Leicester are also said to be interested in signing the 25-year-old shot-stopper.

Hull's Player of the Year last season is a wanted man this summer, after keeping six clean sheets in 44 Championship appearances last term, in what was his breakout season in English football.

With the Tigers in crisis, sanctioning a sale could be a tempting prospect, but it will be difficult for them to source an adequate replacement late in the window, especially with the current embargo plaguing the club's transfer business.

However, there could be danger of Hull losing their first-choice keeper late in the window, as fellow Championship side Leicester are keen to bring Pandur to the King Power Stadium before the transfer window slams shut on Monday at 7pm, according to Nixon via Patreon.

The Foxes are currently facing their own financial demons, which is proving to make transfers very difficult for them to pull off, and that will reportedly be the case if they are to make a move for the Croatian shot-stopper, who is said to be valued at £5 million by the Tigers.

Middlesbrough won't be pursuing Ivor Pandur signing on deadline day

According to Nixon's update on Sunday, a proposal from Championship rivals Middlesbrough, which would've guaranteed Hull a replacement, was being discussed by the two clubs.

Nixon suggested that the two clubs were in talks over a deal which would see Boro keeper Dieng and cash sent to the MKM Stadium in exchange for Pandur.

Dieng would've needed to be proven fit before any potential deal could be sanctioned, but that seemingly won't matter now as that deal is reportedly off, according to journalist Shaw via X.

Rob Edwards' side are now said not to be in discussions with the embargoed club, and won't be signing the Croatian before the window closes, leaving Leicester as the only interested party.
