Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers was left frustrated after their 2-2 draw with Burnley.

A late VAR call denied Chris Wood a late winner for Burnley, but Rodgers was frustrated not to emerge from the encounter with all three points, despite spending much of it behind.

"We're obviously disappointed not to win it," he told LCFC TV. "We had opportunities to win the game. I'm a bit disappointed with how we defended at times. Fundamentally, that's so important in your game and how you work, so that would need to be better. We've scored two very good goals.

"They made some great blocks and preventing us from scoring more goals. Overall, probably a point was deserved."

One area which pleased Rodgers was in the attacking third as Leicester created numerous chances, only to be denied by outstanding defensive work from Sean Dyche's men.

"We pressed the game well," the Northern Irishman added. "We had some problems from behind. They play the ball early, so we had to react to that at half-time. We were done too many times in that transition when they played the ball early in behind.

"We were creative, that was important for us, because over the course of the season so far, we haven't really been as creative as we have been in my time here. In that aspect, we were much better in our quality. It's now [about] further work on synchronising the team so that we're better defensively."
