Amidst another season of struggle at FC Nantes, there has been a bright spark. That has come in the shape of Nathan Zézé (18), who, given his chance by now-former Canaris coach Jocelyn Gourvennec, is now garnering international interest, according to Foot Mercato.

The 18-year-old centre-back, who is now on Thierry Henry’s radar ahead of the Olympics in Paris this summer, has featured for Nantes’ first-team on 11 occasions this season and has impressed, despite the Breton side’s continued difficulties in Ligue 1. Thanks to a victory over OGC Nice on Sunday, Nantes jumped out of the relegation play-off spot and into 14th.

Whilst the club attempt to secure their safety, one of their key defensive players since the mid-season is garnering interest. Foot Mercato understand that Leicester City and Aston Villa are amongst the clubs interested in the Frenchman. The former have offered Zézé’s family the chance to visit England so that their project can be presented to them. Bundesliga side Stuttgart and “many” unnamed Ligue 1 clubs are also interested.
