Lega Serie A president Lorenzo Casini responded to Daniele De Rossi’s criticism of the league’s decision to not postpone Udinese-Roma until the end of the season.

In an interview with Tuttomercatoweb, Casini called himself surprised at De Rossi’s words.

“Yes, I am surprised at his words because the Serie A statute is very clear. The match must be resumed the following day and we had proposed that as an option or it has to be played within the next 15 days, and we had informed Roma’s management about this.”

“This was the calendar priority, which occurred before bringing forward the match against Napoli. However, I summoned the Council who told me that they had to apply the statute anyway.”
