Leeds United youngster Leif Davis admits that midfielder Kalvin Phillips was a big reason why he joined Bournemouth on loan.
The left back has moved to the South coast club for the coming season, while the Cherries can make the move permanent when the campaign concludes for a set fee.
The 21-year-old spoke with the Bournemouth official website after signing and spoke about the influence of Phillips and ex-Leeds man Lewis Cook.
"He [Kalvin Phillips] helped me out a lot," Davis said.
"He wants me to get back to playing football again and enjoying football and he said he'd spoke to Lewis [Cook].
"Lewis said to Kalvin that I'd love it down here and that he'd look after me. As soon as Kalvin told me that, I couldn't wait to get down."
"It was one of the best years of my life even though I didn't play," he added about the 2019-2020 season, when Leeds were promoted from the Championship to the Premier League.
"Just being around the atmosphere of being promoted was amazing and hopefully we can do that this year."
